Is Beefbar Limassol worth 300 euro for two? Yes, if you want the best steak in Cyprus and the bill is not the deciding factor. The beef is exceptional, the wine list is built for meat, the chocolate souffle is the best dessert in Limassol and the service matches the room. It is expensive and unapologetic about it, and in this case the price is justified.
Our rating: 4.5 out of 5. Order the truffle fries and save room for the souffle.

Is Beefbar Limassol Worth the Price?
Yes, provided you know what you are walking into. This is not a casual dinner decision and it does not pretend to be. Expect to spend around 300 to 350 euro for two with good cuts and a mid level wine. For that you get exceptional meat, a well built wine list, polished service and a room that feels like a destination rather than a hotel restaurant.
If you want the best steak on the island and the bill is not the deciding factor, Beefbar belongs on your list. If you are after value for money in the ordinary sense, look elsewhere. Those are two different questions, and Beefbar only answers the first.
Beefbar Limassol at a Glance
- Good for: special occasions, serious steak lovers, business dinners, wine with dinner, and anyone staying at or visiting the Amara.
- Less good for: anyone on a budget, anyone wanting traditional Cypriot food, and anyone looking for a quick or casual meal.
- Cost: around 300 to 350 euro for two with good cuts and a mid level wine.
- What stood out: the quality of the beef across the whole menu, the truffle fries, the chocolate souffle and a wine list built for meat.
How Good Is the Beef at Beefbar?
The meat quality is exceptional, and this is the whole point of the restaurant. The range of cuts is wide, sourced internationally and cooked with real precision. You can taste the difference immediately in the texture and in the way the beef has been handled on the grill.
One thing I particularly appreciate is that the value does not all sit at the top of the price list. Several of the more accessible cuts deliver as much enjoyment as the ultra premium options. The expensive cuts are excellent, but you are not punished for choosing something less flashy, and in a category where restaurants usually push diners towards the most expensive line on the menu, that restraint is unusual. For comparison, Prime Steakhouse at City of Dreams is the closest rival in Limassol and worth reading alongside this.
Is Beefbar a Global Brand Done Properly in Limassol?
Beefbar is an international brand with its flagship in Monaco and sites around the world that follow a very clear identity. That matters, because when a name like this arrives in Cyprus, expectations climb immediately and plenty of international openings on the island have failed to meet them.
What struck us from the first visit is that Beefbar Limassol does not feel like a diluted version of the brand. It feels confident, properly resourced and aligned with the international standard, and you know within a minute of walking in that the kitchen is serious. The Amara Hotel setting helps, sitting directly on the beachfront, though once you are seated the hotel disappears entirely. The Amara also houses Matsuhisa, which we found considerably less convincing. Same building, very different outcome.
What Is the Room Like?
The decor is what you would expect from a high end international steakhouse without tipping into cold or intimidating. Clean lines, warm tones, good materials and a layout that manages to feel open and intimate at once.
The details stand out: distinctive plates, good cutlery and well chosen glassware. Small things, but at this price they matter, and everything feels deliberate rather than bought as a set. You can dress up here comfortably and you will not feel out of place if you do not, which is a balance a lot of restaurants in this bracket get wrong.
Are the Truffle Fries and Burgers Any Good?
The truffle fries deserve their own mention. The portion is generous to the point of being surprising for a restaurant at this level, and they are excellent: crisp, aromatic and the sort of side you keep returning to long after you have announced you are finished.
The burger is where I have a small complaint. When Beefbar Limassol first opened, the sliders came with a secret sauce that set them apart completely, and it was one of the things we recommended the place for. The burger has changed since. It remains very good and the meat quality is still excellent, but that original sauce is missed. It is not a reason to avoid the restaurant, though it is the kind of thing you only notice if you have been several times.
What Is the Wine List Like?
The wine list is exactly what you would hope for at this level. It is extensive without being unwieldy, and clearly built around meat rather than assembled to look impressive. On one visit we stayed with Tempranillo, which paired beautifully with the beef, and also worked through a very solid Spanish Riscal.
The staff know the list, make recommendations comfortably and never push. Wine here feels like part of the meal rather than an upsell, which is not always the case in Limassol. If Cypriot wine is what you are after, our guide to Cyprus wine covers the indigenous grapes worth asking about.
How Are the Desserts and Service?
If you assume Beefbar is only about meat, the desserts will change your mind. The chocolate souffle is outstanding: generous, rich and properly executed, indulgent without being sickly. It is large enough to share, though you may resent having offered once it arrives. The chocolate praline is also strong, and neither is filler added to complete a menu.
Service is polished and professional without being stiff. The staff know the menu, understand the differences between cuts and explain them without making you feel examined. Pacing is excellent, which matters more than people credit. You are neither rushed nor forgotten, and the evening moves at the speed it should.
What Does Dinner at Beefbar Cost?
Worth being blunt about. A proper meal for two, with good cuts and a mid level bottle, sits comfortably around 300 to 350 euro. What you are paying for is consistency, ingredient quality, service and a complete experience rather than just a piece of beef. At this level value is not about being inexpensive, it is about whether the evening justifies the number on the bill. Here it does, which is not true of every expensive restaurant in Limassol, and we have said so elsewhere, including in our review of ORIS at Trilogy.
For context, prices like these have become normal at the top end of Limassol dining, and they sit closer to London than to the rest of Cyprus. Our guide to living in Limassol looks at why the city has become so expensive.
Where to Eat in Limassol: Beefbar and the Other Amara Restaurants
Beefbar is one of three big chef led restaurants inside the hotel, and the comparison is useful if you are deciding where to book. On food alone, Beefbar comes out on top. Ristorante Locatelli comes second, with good Italian cooking priced at the very top of the market. Matsuhisa comes third, with the most striking room and the least consistent kitchen. If you want fish instead of beef, BEGE is the best in Cyprus, and our guide to the best restaurants in Cyprus ranks the rest.
How Do You Get to Beefbar in Limassol?
The Amara sits on Amathus Avenue, on the coast east of Limassol, around eleven kilometres from the city centre. Most people arrive by car or taxi, and the hotel valet is one of the better ones on the island, which makes a difference after a long dinner. You do not need to be a hotel guest to book.
Book ahead, particularly through summer and at weekends. Evenings here are long and relaxed, so allow at least two to three hours if you are planning a full meal with dessert. To get there, book a private transfer with KiwiTaxi (affiliate link) or GetTransfer (affiliate link), or compare hire cars on Auto Europe (affiliate link). Limassol is roughly an hour from both Larnaca and Paphos airports.
Where to Stay in Limassol for Beefbar
The easy choice is the hotel itself, and our review of the Amara covers the rooms, the spa, the pools and what a stay costs. Other strong options on the same coast are Parklane Resort and The GrandResort, and our guide to where to stay in Cyprus compares the main areas.
Tips for Your Visit
- Do not assume the most expensive cut is the best value: some of the more accessible cuts are just as enjoyable.
- Order the truffle fries: the portion is generous enough to share.
- Ask the staff about wine: they know the list and the recommendations are helpful rather than a sales pitch.
- Save room for the chocolate souffle: it is one of the best desserts in Limassol.

Final Thoughts
Beefbar Limassol does not compete with traditional taverns or casual steakhouses, and it should not. It sits in its own category and occupies it confidently. If you want one of the best steak restaurants in Cyprus, somewhere the meat, the wine, the room and the service all operate at the same high level, this belongs on the list. It is expensive and it is refined, but it is also consistent and enjoyable, which is why we keep going back.
