Grazie Paphos Review: Our Favourite Table in Paphos

Is Grazie Paphos worth it? Yes, and it is our favourite restaurant in the town. The meat is excellent, the gratinated oysters are the dish to order, the wine list is one of the best in Paphos and the owner, George, usually comes out to say hello. We give it 4.5 out of 5.

The only thing that stops it scoring five is the bill. It can get expensive, but in our view the trip is still worth it.

Is Grazie Paphos Worth Visiting?

Yes. We have been many times, and it is the restaurant we recommend first to anyone staying in Paphos. It is also the first Paphos restaurant we have reviewed, so it sets the standard for the ones that follow.

What makes the place is the owner. George is polite, well known in town and always comes out to say hello, which gives the restaurant a character that many dining rooms lack.

Grazie Paphos at a Glance

  • Good for: a special dinner, meat lovers, seafood and wine drinkers.
  • Less good for: a cheap night out, as it can get expensive.
  • What stood out: the meat, the gratinated oysters, the wine list and George.
  • Location: walking distance from the centre of Paphos.
  • Our rating: 4.5 out of 5.

What Is Grazie Paphos?

Grazie is an Italian restaurant in Kato Paphos, at 3 and 5 Ayias Anastasias. It has been open since 2002, and its own menu is built around fire cooking, with live seafood such as lobster and oysters alongside USDA Prime Angus beef and Japanese Wagyu.

It opens for dinner only, from 17:00 to 23:00 every day according to the restaurant. Booking ahead is sensible at busy times, and you can reserve through the Grazie website.

What Is the Food Like at Grazie?

The meat is the first reason to go. The quality is excellent, and it is the thing we would order again without hesitation.

The second is the gratinated oysters, a signature dish worth making the trip for. They come cooked with a cheese topping, and they are excellent. The topping can change, so ask what is on the menu when you book.

How Good Is the Wine List?

It is one of the best wine menus in Paphos. If you enjoy wine, leave time to go through it, and ask George or the team for a pairing with the meat or the oysters.

Where Is Grazie Paphos?

Grazie is in Kato Paphos, within walking distance of the centre. That makes it easy to combine with an evening stroll, and you do not need a car or a taxi if you are staying nearby.

How Do You Get to Grazie in Paphos?

Paphos airport is about 15 to 20 minutes from Kato Paphos, so a KiwiTaxi (affiliate link) or GetTransfer (affiliate link) private transfer is quick and fixed price. Coming from Larnaca airport it is around an hour and a half by road, and from Limassol roughly an hour. If you are staying outside Kato Paphos, a taxi is the sensible way to dinner if you plan to enjoy the wine list. Tickets for the Paphos Archaeological Park and the tombs are listed on Tiqets (affiliate link).

Our guide to where to stay in Cyprus compares Paphos with the other resort areas. Arriving from abroad, an eSIM from Airalo (affiliate link) saves roaming charges.

Where to Eat in Paphos: Grazie and the Alternatives

Grazie is the first Paphos restaurant we have reviewed, and the one we book for a special evening. For traditional village food, 7 Linoi is worth the drive, and our guide to the best restaurants in Cyprus ranks the places we rate across the island.

Is Grazie Expensive?

It can be. Quality meat, live seafood and a serious wine list add up, and that is the only reason we do not score it a full five. We still think it is worth the money, but it is better for an occasion than for a quick bite.

Tips for Your Visit

  • Order the oysters: the gratinated oysters are the signature dish.

  • Say hello to George: he is usually around and is happy to talk.
  • Plan the ride home: if you are not staying in Kato Paphos, book a taxi so you can enjoy the wine.
